The main difference between the two types of metal containers is the cooling system. In turn, this makes refrigerated containers useful to store temperature-sensitive produce and allows them to be deployed in many roles that would be hard to execute with standard shipping containers.
The width and height of all refrigerated containers are standardised at 8ft and 8ft 6’’ respectively, but the length can vary. There are three basic models; 10ft containers that provide maximum mobility and flexibility; 20ft medium-sized units that are incredibly versatile; and 40ft reefers that can store a huge amount of perishable goods. In practice, this means containers give you the best of both worlds, merging the benefits of standardisation with an abundance of size options.
Reefers are designed to work in both outdoor and indoor settings. Providing units can be placed on flat terrain, are connected to a suitable power supply, and there is ample free access to the doors, they can even be used in tight spaces. Our smallest containers are 10ft and compact enough to fit on some car parking spaces. Our units are commonly placed inside warehouses or on-site at event venues to provide staff convenient and fast access to produce kept in cold storage.
Our dedicated inhouse team provide a special skating service, where we position refrigerated containers inside warehouses and other suitable indoor spaces.
The lowest temperature that Spacewise refrigerated containers can reach is around -35 ͦC. On the other side of the spectrum, they can also operate up to +30 ͦC regardless of the outside conditions. Such a broad range of settings dramatically extends the utility of our containers, allowing them to safely and reliably store many different types of goods, from fresh meat and dairy to chemicals and pharmaceutical products.
Yes. Spacewise containers are manufactured from the finest materials and can be supplied with remote monitoring facilities accessible via a mobile phone, tablet or PC from almost anywhere in the world. In addition, they come equipped with a fully lockable but easy to open butcher's door.
