Tip #1 – Always Set the Most Optimal Temperature

The versatility of reefer containers can be misleading – they indeed can be used for many different foodstuffs and other goods, but only if you set the temperature to the right level. The supported range is broad and allows plenty of options, so you should adjust it based on the current needs of your assets. If you apply settings to store frozen meat, then place fresh flowers inside, the results could be disastrous!

Tip #2 – Avoid Packing Goods Too Tightly

For the cooling system to work efficiently, leaving space for sufficient airflow inside the container is necessary. For this reason, reefers should never be packed too tightly, and adequate gaps should be left between the pallets and near the walls. With a correct packing method and enough space for the air to circulate, reefer containers are very reliable and can maintain the temperature you choose.

Tip #3 – Two Containers May be Better than a Single Large One

Spacewise containers are available at lengths of 10ft, 20ft, and 40ft. As such, some people assume they should lease a single larger one if their storage requirements are considerable. However, renting two units that add up to the same capacity allows you to be more flexible by potentially placing them at different locations on-site and setting the containers at different temperatures.

Positioning a refrigerated container can be crucial for its functionality. When the unit is located close to where it’s needed, and no obstacles are blocking direct access to the doors, it’s easy to load or retrieve stored items.
